1. Start with selecting and clicking a needed picture where you want to remove the background.
2. Just under “Picture Tools” you have to press “Remove Background” on the tab “Format” in the group “Adjust”.

As you can see, the area of the default background has a magenta color. It is marked like this for background removal. At the same time, a picture’s foreground will keep its original color. Sometimes, a desired result is achieved without any additional work, but you can always remove certain areas.

Additional work connected to background removal
Find “Picture Tools”, press the tab “Background Removal” and do the following things:
• If some parts of your picture have been removes and you want to keep them, you have to press “Mark Areas to Keep”. You will get access to a drawing pencil which you should use for marking certain areas which have to be kept.
• In order to remove additional parts of your background, you have to press the option “Mark Areas to Remove” and mark needed parts with a drawing pencil.

Once all the editing has been finished, you have to press “Keep Changes”/”Discard All Changes” in the group “Close”.

How should we save the edited picture?
Note that all applied changes will affect the copy of your picture, but they will not affect the original picture. Press “Keep Changes” and then right click the picture and press “Save as Picture”. This will help you to get the image revised as an individual file.
